Genetic code, Leonardo’s code, highway code, bar code, whatever you need to communicate or at least to try. Those who feel interested can give it a chance with codes, by daniela gregis, who is presenting her new fall winter collection in the cloister of the Oratorio della Passione di Sant’Ambrogio. codes is an invitation to do it by yourself, to search for a language of your own that can evolve from sign to behavior. Coherence between one and the other sign and behavior marks the beginning of a dialogue characterized by love for differences, just a small but indispensable step. Therefore, here is the cut that seals, a paradoxical and extremely practical way of joining the edges of a fabric, like interlacing our fingers when we clasp our hands. It’s all about interweaving; along the borders there are seams, graphisms, decorations that syllabize a tactile language. The cloths are drawn from jersey, woollen, cachemire and alpaca fabrics, while the colors, except for a few quick dashes of jellow, keep to two groups: ink blue, in all of its different hues, and beige, ranging from earth colored to rope colored, to an elusive dust spot. Of special mention, the kyoko bag, low and wide, made with fabric and with two handles, useful for carefully carrying a cake without damaging it; the dresses with V shaped necks, worn on top of t shirts with boat shaped neck lines; the marta skirt pants with a buckle latch; the very, very wide navy trousers worn under double breasted jackets, following the principle of the cut that seals. Very essential and flowing preparation, following after chinese shadows and a sax’s notes.
